Hello! Thank you for stopping by the site - I’m glad you're here! I'm Julia, a small town girl (from Asheville) with big dreams, obsessed with traveling to new places and meeting new faces, and lover of Mexican food (okay, all food really).
I've been around horses my entire life but didn't start riding until I was sixteen. I'd hang out at the barn with my mom after tennis practice and tell her "that can't be that hard" about horseback riding, and boy did she prove me wrong when I started taking lessons! I became fascinated with learning about horses and different types of disciplines. I began working at the barn, toting my camera with me - that's where my passion for photography really grew.
I was accepted to the Commercial Photography program at Appalachian State University and intended to become a professional equestrian photographer. I studied the technical and visual elements of photographic theory, various lighting and photography styles and techniques, from product, to fashion, and to editorial photography. I feel like I've won the lottery to be able to pursue what I love and meet incredible people along the way.
